Knit a handful of adorable wee woodland friends, to share or keep for yourself!  They are perfect for pocket pals, stockings, Christmas trees, or mobiles. The pattern includes instructions for 6 animals: squirrel, mouse, hare, otter, hedgehog, and fox. In addition, you can knit them tiny hats and scarves, to keep cozy during brisk autumn days!

The finished toys are about 3” tall, and use only a small amount of worsted weight yarn for each animal. The hat and scarf patterns use small amounts of fingering or sport weight yarn - a good way to use up leftover sock yarn. Skills required include stockinette stitch, garter stitch, m1 increase, decreasing to left and right, changing colours, and sewing seams. The toys are all knit flat, then seamed, stuffed and assembled.

Materials Required

Animals: 15-20 g of worsted weight yarn for each toy (details for each animal given in pattern), pair of 4 mm (US size 6) knitting needles, tapestry needle, pair of 6 mm safety eyes or buttons for each toy, stuffing

Accessories: 15 g of fingering weight yarn for each set, pair of 3.25 mm (US size 3) knitting needles, tapestry needle
